Chocolate Fundraiser and Party
Our fundraiser was a HUGE success this year. Students worked hard to sell chocolate to our community and our community supported us back! Thank you to all of the family members the participated and thank you to the parents and volunteers who helped count the money as well as document our sales so that we could run our Chocolate party and award prizes to our students.
Congratulations to the following top sellers!
- Antonio Romero 12 boxes: First place and a $100 gift card
- Hunter Chen: 10 boxes: Second place and a $50 gift card
- John Snyder: 8 boxes: Third place and a $25 gift card
We will draw our fast food winners tomorrow in homeroom and will announce them in class to see who gets a Chick-Fil-A lunch on the band for selling one box of chocolates!
Our chocolate party was a blast! Students who sold one box enjoyed a glow party, ice cream sundaes and an inflatable obstacle course. Thank you to the parent volunteers who helped monitor and serve ice cream and thank you so much to all of the students who participated!

Hispanic Heritage Month
To conclude Hispanic Heritage Month, our school held its annual Hispanic Heritage Month Assembly and many of our band members participated this year. Congratulations to Gabriel Forero who performed “Wave” by Antonio Carlos Jobim on his saxophone and to four of our own percussionists who collaborated with Tracey Morris and the Performing Arts program on “Es Tu Tiempo”. Cameron Slater, Elijah Morris, Landon Cardell, and Coen Maxey performed on traditional drums alongside the vocalists and dancers. In addition, we had many band members who were speakers, vocalists, artists, and dancers. Congratulations to all participants!

Our first concert of the year is almost here! In just over two weeks, our CMS Band students are going to rock the stage at the Mabry Arts Center.
