District Honor Band

Congratulations to our CMS and CHS Students who participated in District Honor Band this weekend. These students practiced in the Fall for a difficult audition in early December and earned a spot this year! This is the largest group that Carrollton City Schools has brought and we are extremely proud of them for representing us in Ringgold, Georgia. Dr. Carr, Ms. Morrissey, Ms. Hanlin, and Yvonne Haley ensured that all students attended rehearsal on time, took the students bowling, to Krispy Kreme, and supported them the entire way. Thank you for your care this weekend and thank you to Carrollton City Schools for providing the charter bus for us to ride in comfort!

Band Store

Our store is open year round if you would like to purchase hoodies or shirts! Thank you to Ozier Apparel for making this happen!

Private Lessons

If your student is looking to improve on their instrument, whether that is to start as a beginner to advance to become competitive, private lessons are a game changer for band students. I have compiled a list of some incredible educators and I would love to see our students studying with these musicians!

All State

We hope to hear results tomorrow but wanted to take a moment to say how proud we are of our six students who auditioned for the Georgia All State Band on Saturday! Joseph Ballew, Gabriel Forero, Emma Ha, Jeronimo Morales-Ruiz, Zio Rho, and Jaina Williams. Being invited to audition means that they scored a high enough score on their District Honor Band audition back in December. We are SO proud of you! Leadership takes courage and you showed so much preparing and auditioning on Saturday!

I want to say thank you to everyone who helped with our original two families and their Christmas sponsorship this year. What even warmed my heart more is when we were asked to support a third family, and you all covered everything that they needed within an hour. Thank you to this community for being so loving and selfless during this time.

Winter Concert

What a tremendous Winter Concert! The audience was so supportive and the students performed wonderfully. The students were dressed very festive and I am sure that many great photos were taken. Below are some from the school system. Thank you to our staff of incredible band directors and teachers who work behind the scenes to make concerts like this so successful! Dr. Carr, Mr. Nelson, Mr. Trumble, Mr. Boyle, and Mr. Videtto handled so many things and allow for Mr. Marier and Ms. Menendez could focus on making music with the students! What a village we have!

Christmas Sponsorship

Each year, our band program sponsors families during the holiday season. As a team leader (band director) I receive information on students and their shirt, shoe, and pant sizes as well as some toys or other gifts submitted by their parents. To keep things anonymous, we will have two families and called them “Family #1” and “Family #2”.

Family #1

Family #2

If you are able to contribute, please click on one of the links above to select items to donate. Please identify the items (especially if they are wrapped) by the Family # and the Age/Gender of the child. This allows for me to separate the presents and get them to the correct family.

Thank you for considering and I am so excited that our students are learning to give to others during this time of the year!

UWG Free Concert 11/17

On Monday, the 17th, the University of West Georgia Wind Ensemble has a fantastic concert! Please click below to see their jaw dropping pieces including a baritone/euphonium soloists, a piece about the Northern Lights, and a piece featuring four percussionists that will blow your mind.
